Hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is currently in federal custody, awaiting trial on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. His arrest in New York last week followed a series of civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and physical violence, with some allegations dating as far back as the 1990s.

Thalia Graves, the latest and 11th accuser to come forward, claims that Combs and his bodyguard drugged, tied up, and raped her in 2001, while also filming the assault.

The Harlem-born rapper, now 54, has denied any criminal wrongdoing. Combs was arrested on September 16 at a New York hotel and faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, and transporting individuals for prostitution.

Federal prosecutors allege that Combs orchestrated a criminal enterprise, using abuse, threats, and coercion to exploit women and others to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his public image, and cover up his actions. They also accuse him of using drugs, violence, and his influence to lure female victims into what were described as extended sexual encounters, known as "Freak Offs."

In addition, during raids on Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles in March, authorities seized firearms, ammunition, and over 1,000 bottles of lubricant.

Prosecutors have reportedly spoken with several former employees of Combs and some of the women involved in the lawsuits, suggesting that additional charges could be forthcoming.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to the felony charges, with his attorney emphasizing that he is a "fighter" who will face the allegations head-on.

Currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, a facility notorious for its harsh conditions, Combs is housed in a high-security area, reportedly sharing accommodations with convicted cryptocurrency fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried.

Despite his legal team’s attempts to secure his release due to the "horrific" conditions of the facility, bail has been denied twice, as prosecutors argued that Combs is a significant flight risk.

If convicted, Combs faces a potential sentence of 15 years to life in prison.
