Reese Witherspoon ventures into thriller writing with Harlan Coben's guidance
Reese Witherspoon is embarking on a new venture, one that many book club enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating. The acclaimed actress and savvy media entrepreneur announced on social media that she's teaming up with the renowned author Harlan Coben to co-write a novel.
"I'm thrilled to announce my collaboration with the #1 bestselling author, @harlancoben, on my inaugural thriller!" she exclaimed on Instagram, accompanying a photo with Coben.
"As a fervent admirer of Harlan's literary creations, I'm astounded that he agreed to pen a novel with me. Either my persuasion skills are unparalleled, or the concept of this book is simply IRRESISTIBLE! Perhaps both? I genuinely can't wait for everyone to delve into it!"
The Academy Award winner also revealed a preliminary cover design for the as-yet-untitled book, slated for release in the autumn of 2025.
Coben responded to Witherspoon’s announcement with enthusiasm, commenting, "Let's do this, partner!!"
Coben, a prolific author of numerous bestsellers, penned "Fool Me Once," which was adapted by Netflix into a successful series earlier this year.
Witherspoon, who curates a popular book club, has authored works like the cookbook-memoir "Whiskey in a Teacup" in 2018 and the "Busy Betty" series for children. She also wrote the introduction for "Honey, Baby, Mine," a collaborative memoir by her "Big Little Lies" co-star Laura Dern and Dern's mother, Diane Ladd.
Recently, Witherspoon shared a pre-order link on her Instagram for the new book, available in hardcover for $30 and as an ebook priced at $14.99. The forthcoming novel, spanning 352 pages, is set to be released on October 14, 2025.
