Oasis reveals schedule for upcoming US tour
In a nod to their iconic track, Oasis has chosen to "Acquiesce" to the fervent pleas of their North American devotees eager for a slice of their reunion tour.
The storied British rock ensemble has unveiled an extension of their 2025 tour, now encompassing a slew of dates across the United States.
"America. Oasis is coming," trumpets a message on the band's X account. "This is your final opportunity to show your enduring love for us."
Per their official website, the North American segment of the tour is slated to commence on August 24 at Rogers Stadium in Toronto, Ontario. The journey will then wend its way through Chicago, Illinois, East Rutherford, New Jersey, Los Angeles, California, and Mexico City, Mexico.
A declaration from the band's management on Instagram asserts, "Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing model will not be applied to the forthcoming sale of tickets for Oasis concerts in North America."
The statement elaborates, "Dynamic pricing is generally acknowledged as an effective strategy to counteract ticket scalping and maintain ticket prices below market rates for a substantial portion of fans, thereby ensuring affordability. Yet, when overwhelming demand (capable of selling out the entire tour instantaneously) intersects with technology ill-equipped to handle such volume, its efficacy diminishes, leading to a subpar experience for fans."
This measure aims to "hopefully prevent a recurrence of the complications faced by fans in the UK and Ireland recently," the statement adds.
The fervor surrounding Oasis's reunion, 15 years post the split of the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, triggered a chaotic scramble for tickets, resulting in considerable disarray.
The situation deteriorated to the point that the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) initiated an inquiry into Ticketmaster for a potential "breach of consumer protection law."
CNN has sought a response from Ticketmaster representatives.
Presale registration for the North American tour is now open on Oasis's website until Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET, while the general ticket sale kicks off at noon local time on Friday.
The band also harbors plans to tour beyond Europe and North America.
