Lady Gaga isn't pulling any punches when it comes to unveiling fresh tunes. The Oscar-winning artist revealed on Tuesday, through Instagram, her imminent album "Harlequin," which she described as a musical counterpart to the forthcoming film "Joker: Folie à Deux." In this cinematic venture, she shares the screen with Joaquin Phoenix. Scheduled for release on September 27, "Harlequin" promises a collection of 13 tracks, including titles like "Good Morning," "World on a String," and "The Joker." Gaga had been dropping enigmatic hints on her Instagram over the past week, some featuring audio snippets likely from the new album. One cryptic post stated, "I'm ready for my interview," while another teased, "Moondust gets everywhere."

In "Joker: Folie à Deux," Gaga takes on the role of Lee Quinzel, better known as the iconic Harley Quinn. The film is a highly anticipated sequel to the Todd Phillips-directed "Joker" from 2019. Accompanying her in the cast are Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, and Ken Leung.

Gaga's songwriting prowess has previously been lauded, especially for tracks she penned for films in which she starred. She secured an Oscar in 2019 for "Shallow," a song she wrote and performed in "A Star is Born." Her talents earned her nominations again for "Hold My Hand" from "Top Gun: Maverick" last year and "Til It Happens to You" from "The Hunting Ground" in 2016.

"Harlequin" stands apart from Gaga's forthcoming seventh studio album, which she's been hinting at on her social media. Earlier this month, she mentioned that the lead single from this album would drop sometime in October, though the exact date remains a mystery. This new album will succeed her 2020 release, "Chromatica." The film "Joker: Folie à Deux" is set to hit theaters on October 4.
