John Krasinski crowned as People magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive'
People magazine has bestowed the title of 2024's Sexiest Man Alive upon John Krasinski. The announcement came during Tuesday's episode of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." The magazine also unveiled its latest cover on social media.
During the reveal, host Stephen Colbert humorously feigned disappointment over not receiving the esteemed accolade. Krasinski appeared onscreen to comfort Colbert, quipping, "It's alright, you're not the Sexiest Man Alive, but does it really matter? Besides me, apparently."
Krasinski then starred in a comedic video, reminiscent of an '80s infomercial, offering Colbert lessons on mastering allure. The clip featured a surprise appearance by former titleholder Chris Evans.
Krasinski is widely celebrated for his portrayal of Jim Halpert on "The Office" across nine seasons. He directed and headlined the 2018 film "A Quiet Place" alongside his spouse, actress Emily Blunt, and later directed its 2020 sequel.
From 2018 to 2023, he took on the role of Jack Ryan in the Prime Video series "Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan." A film adaptation of the series was announced just last month.
Jokingly recounting his achievement to Blunt, Krasinski mentioned he struggled to hear her response over the "uproarious laughter" from her end.
Krasinski succeeds Patrick Dempsey of "Grey's Anatomy," the 2023 recipient of the title.
