Jelly Roll announces he's leaving 'most toxic' X

While Twitter has rebranded to X, it continues its legacy of having celebrities declare their departures. Jelly Roll is the latest luminary to bid farewell to the Elon Musk-owned platform. "Without a doubt, this is the most toxic and negative app ever created — PERIOD. lol," the country music sensation remarked on Sunday. "This place is off the charts, man. I've always heard it likened to the Wild West, but it's sheer madness here," he elaborated. "It's a haven where people can hurl insults at each other without facing repercussions. I'm done, lol."

Before Musk acquired it and rebranded it in 2023, numerous celebrities had already exited the social media stage, often making headlines, though some sporadically returned. This isn't Jelly Roll's first social media hiatus. In April 2024, he discussed this with Variety after his spouse, Bunnie XO, revealed he was taking a breather. "Bullying wasn't the sole reason," Jelly Roll shared. "It was the platform's toxicity and my own growing addiction to it. I was too occupied to squander hours scrolling through feeds. Honestly, I've been off social media for a few months now, and I've never felt better mentally — more clearheaded and healthier."

He humorously noted, "I've also never been more out of touch with world happenings, but one thing's for sure, I'm not returning before the election. Bad joke." Nonetheless, he did make a brief comeback, only to step away once more, it seems.
