Daughters of Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler discover their parents' film '50 First Dates'
Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler's daughters recently indulged in a familial cinematic experience. During an episode of her daytime talk show, Barrymore recounted a charming anecdote. She stumbled upon her daughter and Sandler's offspring engrossed in a screening of "50 First Dates," a film where both Barrymore and Sandler share the limelight.
Barrymore humorously questioned, "Why are you watching this? Aren’t you saturated with seeing your parents on screen?" The identities of the movie enthusiasts remain undisclosed. Barrymore is the proud mother of Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10, with former spouse Will Kopelman. Sandler, on the other hand, fathers Sunny, 16, and Sadie, 18, with wife Jackie.
In the 2004 romantic comedy, Barrymore portrays a woman afflicted with daily amnesia, while Sandler plays her persistent suitor. On her show, Barrymore unveiled that the film was initially titled “50 First Kisses.” She also divulged its original conclusion.
"It was a drama, situated in Seattle," Barrymore explained. "The initial ending had her advising, ‘You should pursue your own life, because this isn’t a life here.’ He departs, but later returns, enters a restaurant, and simply greets, ‘Hi, I’m Henry.’ And that’s where it ended."
Ross Mathews, her companion on "The Drew Barrymore Show," expressed gratitude for altering that somber finale.
