Bruce Springsteen Backs Kamala Harris in Presidential Race
Renowned music icon Bruce Springsteen has pledged his allegiance to Vice President Kamala Harris and her partner Tim Walz in the forthcoming U.S. presidential election.
In a Thursday video on his official Instagram, Springsteen voiced his endorsement, labeling the election as “one of the most pivotal in our nation’s history.”
"Kamala Harris and Tim Walz embody a vision for America that honors and embraces every individual, irrespective of class, creed, race, political stance, or sexual identity," the Grammy laureate declared. "This is the America I've been chronicling through my music for over five decades."
Musical luminaries such as Taylor Swift, Carole King, and Chappell Roan have also publicly backed Harris.
Springsteen, a longstanding supporter of the Democratic Party, lent his voice to Joe Biden's campaign in 2020 and has been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump, the Republican contender. In 2017, he contributed to a protest anthem with Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers titled "That’s What Makes Us Great." Furthermore, he co-hosted a podcast alongside former President Barack Obama.
"Not since the Civil War has this magnificent nation felt as politically, spiritually, and emotionally fractured as it does now," Springsteen remarked in his Instagram video, emphasizing that "it need not be this way." "The enduring values and shared narratives that forge our unity as a nation await rediscovery and retelling.
