Ariana Grande spoofs Celine Dion's viral Sunday Night Football promo in 'SNL' skit
Ariana Grande graced the stage of "Saturday Night Live" with a stellar performance of her renowned Celine Dion impression. This "Wicked" starlet not only hosted the episode but also featured in a pre-recorded skit that humorously mocked Dion’s viral Sunday Night Football promo linked to the Steelers-Cowboys clash.
In the comedic sketch, Grande, embodying Dion, hilariously promoted the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She described it as "another sport whose timeless emotions ignite the bittersweet memories that live inside my soul. And... in the octagon." She then launched into a parody of Dion’s iconic 1996 ballad, "It’s All Coming Back to Me Now," weaving in references to the injuries UFC fighters endure with lines like "when I hit you like this, when you choke me like that."
Celine Dion recently appeared in a video for Sunday Night Football’s matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers, whimsically tying the beloved song to both teams. Grande, celebrated for her spot-on Dion impersonation, had previously delighted audiences with it on a 2015 episode of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and during her 2018 "Carpool Karaoke" stint.
This marked Grande's second hosting stint on "SNL," while Stevie Nicks took the stage as the musical guest. Grande had earlier graced the iconic sketch show as a musical guest in 2014 and 2024 and showcased her versatility by serving as both host and musical guest in March 2016. "Saturday Night Live" broadcasts on NBC every Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT. The upcoming episode will feature Michael Keaton as host with Billie Eilish as the musical guest.
