'American Pickers' Star Frank Fritz Passes Away at 60
Frank Fritz, a familiar face from the History Channel's antique treasure hunt, "American Pickers," has passed away, as confirmed by his co-host and the show's creator, Mike Wolfe. Fritz was 60 years old. Wolfe shared in a heartfelt Facebook post on Tuesday that Fritz departed this life on Monday. He reflected on their long-standing friendship, noting Fritz's blend of humor and sensitivity.
"Frank was no different off-screen than on; he had an uncanny ability to touch people's hearts simply by being himself," Wolfe remarked. "Together, we embarked on countless journeys, shared countless miles, and I feel fortunate to have been present for his final trip home."
Efforts by CNN to obtain further statements from Fritz's manager have yet to yield additional information. The exact cause of death remains unverified. Fritz's demise follows two years after Wolfe revealed on Instagram that Fritz had been hospitalized due to a stroke.
Fritz had been a companion to Wolfe on "American Pickers," a well-loved series documenting their cross-country escapades in pursuit of rare artifacts to refurbish and sell in their antique stores. The show made its debut in 2010.
"We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear friend and cherished member of The HISTORY Channel and American Pickers family, Frank Fritz, on September 30, 2024. Frank devoted over a decade to filming American Pickers," a representative from the History Channel and Cineflix Production, the creators of "American Pickers," stated to CNN on Tuesday. "We will forever cherish 'the bearded charmer' and his relentless quest for vintage motorcycles and bicycles. Our thoughts are with Frank's family and friends during this challenging time. His absence will be profoundly felt.
